Picture of the Day No. 84 – Mr. Romanus S. Boorse’s Cozy Cottage Built Circa 1910

No. 84

Here is a very cozy and comfortable cottage built around 1910-11 that belonged to Mr. Romanus S. Boorse of 2431 N. Eighth Street, Philadelphia.  Mr. Boorse acquired the land on which his cottage was built at 87th Street and Third Avenue, entirely free of cost, under the much heralded Stone Harbor Bond Plan.  The wrap-around porch extends across the front and along one side of this snug little cottage.  It appears the upper story exterior is covered with cedar shingles.
