Stone Harbor Railroads: 1892 to 1934 – A colorized composite of three images featuring the early but very important railroad transportation serving Stone Harbor in the formative years of development.   The caption reads as follows:  “Starting in the 1890s, before autos could reach the island, trains came on to the island from Sea Isle City and carried day trippers and potential investors from Philadelphia.  In 1912 a smaller train came from the Court House.  Both trains were gone by the mid-1930s when the rails were replaced by islands on Second Ave.”
